How Does Massage Support Optimum Health?

Massage is an excellent tool for coping with stress. Using long, gliding strokes, with gentle rocking and kneading, muscles start to loosen and relax, breathing slows and deepens, and the heart rate decreases.

An added benefit, massage therapy boosts immune function by improving circulation. Improved circulation means that vital tissues are nourished and oxygenated, expediting the flow of lymph and removal of cellular waste.

Deep-tissue and myofascial therapies ease muscle tension and reduce pain, helping your body release chronic patterns of tension and discomfort.

Tui Na and Shiatsu are used in conjunction with acupuncture at Elixia Wellness Group. Read more about these techniques on Melody's page.

The whole experience—no matter which techniques are used—is restorative and nurturing. From the moment you step out of the noisy, hectic world into a quiet, darkened sanctuary, massage gives you the opportunity to be present in your body, at peace in your heart, and focused in your mind.

And, it feels really, really good.

How Much Does It Cost?

A one-hour massage at Elixia Wellness Group ranges from $60-70, and a 90-minute massage is $90-100. One session may integrate Swedish massage, deep-tissue work, therapeutic essential oils, acupressure, and reiki. More and more insurance plans are covering massage therapy. Check your policy to find out if Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs) are included in their directory of preferred providers, of if your plan offers out-of-network coverage for massage.
